Samsung accelerates graphics memory to 2000 MHz

Click here to read the full story >> Samsung has bumped the clock speed of GDDR4 memory to 2000MHz, up 66% from 1100 and 1200MHz memory that is integrated in today’s cards, thus showing that the race for more clock speed now not only has CPU’s as participants but GPU’s have also taken a place in the race. The new GDDR4 memory will add even more zip in video applications, making gaming, computer-aided design and video editing faster than ever before

Samsung also stated that the company has shipped samples of the memory, which the company has made in an 80 nm, 512 MB density, to manufacturers.The data transfer speed has also gone up from 2.0 Gb/s to 4 Gb/s. These cards will definitely enhance the performance of video applications.
